Autumn in the Wye Valley

The weekly walks resume after a summer break.

Last time I walked these forest tracks with Chris it was the season of bluebells with a hint of the wild garlic to come. Today we sensed nature preparing for Autumn with the aroma of damp earth, leaves about to turn from green to gold and fungi dotted on rotting wood and along the path.

Still beautiful but hazy views with the humid heat making it harder work than usual to walk up the hills. Or maybe I’ve just had too many Cornish pasties and done too little exercise for the past few weeks!
